And God said (to Noah), Never shall there ever again be a flood to destroy the earth. As a token of this pledge I set my bow [rainbow] in the cloud. Genesis 9:11-13 (paraphrase ours)

OUR BELIEF ON TITHING

There are many different questions and opinions about tithing:

  • Is tithing biblical? Is tithing right?
  • Do Christians need to tithe?
  • Do you tithe 10% of net income or gross income?
  • Why tithe?
  • Do you have to give all your tithe to a church?
  • Was tithing one of the "old laws" that went away when Jesus died on the cross?
  • Should a Christian pay tithe?

We are sure there are many more.

We, at Tithing Christians are not theological scholars. We're just people who believe God's Word. The following are our beliefs on the subject of tithing:

We believe that God, our Father, wants us to tithe, but not for “religious law” sake. God wants our tithing to come from our hearts. He wants us to give freely and joyously; just as we accept Jesus into our hearts freely and joyously.

Our Father wants us to be prosperous. Prosperity not only includes money and material possessions, but also includes healthy bodies, minds, relationships, and covers all other aspects of our lives.

There is a common misconception that the bible says, “money is the root of all evil”. The bible actually says "For the love of money is the root of all evils it is through this craving that some have been led astray..." 1 Timothy 6:10 (emphasis ours). God wants to make sure that we have money not that money has us.

At Tithing Christians, we believe that our tithes are pleasing to God. He guides us as to where our donations will go. We are confident that our Father will put our donations to good use for His Kingdom.

Tithing Prayer

Dear Father in Heaven, we thank and praise You today for all the blessings and gifts you bring to our lives. We thank You for loving us and for prospering us in all ways.

Today Lord, we give to Your storehouse from the wealth You have provided us. Please bless these offerings that they are joyfully received into the hands of Your choosing and that they are used to help those in need and for Your greatness and glory. Father we pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
