For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 (KJV)

WHAT DETERMINES YOUR SALVATION?

If you stood before God right now, do you know what he would say to you?

Some of us are just taking our first steps on our spiritual walk with Father God, some have been walking for some time. But there are some that have not started the journey at all.

To those who have not yet begun the journey with Jesus, be of good cheer. You are welcome to the Kingdom of God any time during your life on earth. Sometimes human beings procrastinate because they just don't know where to start. We at Tithing Christians would be honored to give you that first hand-up.

Here are 3 areas in the bible (all from the Amplified version) that explain how to be saved:

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For it is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; 9 not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law's demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possible do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.]

Clearly, in these verses, God is telling us that salvation can not be earned by our good works or kindnesses. God does not play favorites to the rich, the poor, the criminal or the well-intentioned. Salvation is FREE - a glorious gift available to all of us from God through His son, Jesus Christ. We simply need to ask.

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.

Here, Jesus is telling us that the only way we can receive salvation and go to heaven to be with our Father is accepting Jesus as our Lord and believing that He is the Son of God.

Romans 10:9, 10
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
—Romans 10:9,10 (NLT)

These verses give us God's clear instructions on how to ask for this precious gift of salvation. That is to "acknowledge and confess with your mouth " - simply stated it means to say a prayer out loud so your own ears, and God's, can hear; and "believing in your heart" - again, simple instructions: believe in your heart exactly what your mouth is speaking and your ears are hearing.

ARE YOU SAVED?

So we ask again, if you stood before God right now, do you know what He would say to you? "Well done, thou good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:21 (KJV)) and open the gates of Heaven to you? Or, would He say "depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity" (Luke 13:27 (KJV)). If you answer the latter or just don't know what He would say, we encourage you to pray the prayer below. It is a simple prayer you can pray to God asking Jesus Christ to come into your heart. I was taught this prayer by Pastor Corey Ross of the Williamson County Cowboy Church, who led me to salvation several years ago.

PRAYER OF SALVATION

Father in Heaven, I open the door to my heart, and I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe that God raised him from the dead. And I thank you that today is my God day. Jesus is Lord, and I need your help. I pray this prayer to the Father, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

The Bible promises that when you speak a prayer like the one you’ve just prayed sincerely, you will begin to experience a new life in Christ.

So, CONGRATULATIONS! You have just confirmed your reservation for eternal life in Heaven. We welcome you as our new brother and sister in Christ, as you are now a child of the Most High.

When you learn this prayer, you, too, can tell the Good News of Jesus Christ and lead anyone to Him. Also, remember this is a very simple prayer that anyone can understand; it is even a great Prayer of Salvation for Children.

What can you do next?
