And those sown on the good (well-adapted) soil are the ones who hear the Word and receive and accept and welcome it and bear fruit--some thirty times as much as was sown, some sixty times as much, and some [even] a hundred times as much. Mark 4:20 (AMP)

America, Leave God In

By: Sam L. Smith

“But as for you who forsake the Lord and forget my holy mountain, who spread a table for Fortune and fill bowls of mixed wine for destiny, I will destine you for the sword, and you will bend down for the slaughter; for I called but you did not answer, I spoke but you did not listen. You did evil in my sight and chose what displeases me.” [Isaiah 65:11-12]

“One nation, under God…In God we trust…so help me God…God bless America.”

We are blessed to live in America. I know of no place else on earth I would rather live. Americans enjoy more liberty, more opportunity, more security and more prosperity than any other nation on earth. Small things that we take for granted would seem like a fairy tale come true to the citizens of many other nations. One only need watch a few minutes of a news broadcast of the poverty and devastation in other countries to see how blessed we are.

There is a reason we are so blessed. It is not because of our location on the planet. It is not because our leaders are any wiser or stronger than others. It is not because we have more natural resources or more money than others. No physical or intellectual things have made America the best. We are so blessed because we are a nation that was founded on God’s principles and laws. Our founding fathers were Christians, and they formed our government based on Christian values. They reverently understood that for any nation to be free and prosperous it had to honor the Creator of all there is – the one Living God. They also understood that God would only bless a nation that honored His Son, Jesus Christ. Because of those beliefs, and only because of those beliefs, has America thrived and risen to be the greatest nation in history.

America has become the greatest nation because it was founded as “One Nation Under God.” It was never intended that we would stray from God’s covering, for the founders were inspired, and I believe anointed, to create a government that would always fear and honor God and follow the truths of Jesus Christ. They knew, as we should all know, that if we did stray from God, His covering could be withdrawn. ONE NATION UNDER GOD is the only way a nation can survive and enjoy the life we have enjoyed.

I don’t need to tell you the dangers we face if God’s covering ever left us. I also don’t need to tell you that America is heading in a direction that, if not corrected, can result in that very thing. There are those who desire to take “In God” and “Under God” and “Of God” out of everything. And although they are relatively small in numbers, they are huge in influence. They are little but loud. How they have gained such power is beyond my understanding, but they have. Could it be that they are getting supernatural help from the enemy? Whatever gives them their influence, one thing is clear: if they succeed, America as we know it will be no more. Without God, we will not stand.

We hear it from many sources: it is way past time for Christians to stand up and speak out. We have the numbers, we have the power, and above all we who want America to bless God are divinely right. If we remain silent, the cancer that is poised to destroy our blessed nation will certainly spread. In just a few short years there could be a whole generation of Americans who never said or heard “In God We Trust”, “One Nation Under God”, or “So Help Me God.” How long do we think God will honor and bless a nation that ceases to honor and bless Him?

“Therefore, you kings be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for His wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him.” [Psalm 2:10-12]
